NHL: Phoenix 1, Nashville 0 (SO)

NASHVILLE, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Adrian Aucoin's 10th-round shootout tally lifted the Phoenix Coyotes to a 1-0 victory over Nashville Tuesday.

Following Aucoin's wrist shot past Predators netminder Pekka Rinne, Coyotes goalie Ilya Bryzgalov stopped Shea Weber's attempt in the bottom of the shootout round, and Phoenix celebrated its fifth straight win and fourth-place perch in the Western Conference standings.

Bryzgalov finished with 25 saves for Phoenix, while Rinne blocked 26 shots for the Predators in the double shutout.

Earlier in the shootout, Lauri Korpikoski lit the lamp in the second round for Phoenix, but David Legwand answered in the third frame to extend the match.

Aucoin had a great chance during the 5-minute overtime period when he fired a slapper from the point, but Rinne was up to the task.
