NHL: Florida 2, New York Islanders 0

SUNRISE, Fla., Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Florida goaltender Tomas Vokoun turned in his seventh shutout of the season Sunday, blocking 33 shots in a 2-0 Panthers' victory over the New York Islanders.

Vokoun made 15 shots in the first period, five in the second and 13 in the third.

Jordan Leopold scored in the first period and Keith Ballard in the second, both on wrist shots. Michael Frolik assisted on both goals.

The Panthers have won three of their last four contests and the Islanders have dropped five straight.

Rick DiPietro made 23 saves for New York.
