BOSTON, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant's clutch jumper with 7.3 seconds left Sunday capped a huge comeback with a Los Angeles Lakers' 90-89 win over Boston.

It was the first of two games between the rivals this season.

Bryant's fall-away jumper came despite solid defense by Ray Allen.

Bryant led Los Angeles with 19 points, three rebounds and six assists, but sank just 8-of-20 shots.

Andrew Bynum scored 19 with 11 rebounds and Pao Gasol scored 11 with 11 rebounds. Ron Artest had 11 points and three steals for the Lakers, who built a 30-19 first-period lead, but had to overcome an 81-70 fourth-period deficit.

Rajon Rondo led Boston with 21 points and 12 assists.

Paul Pierce scored 15, Troy Allen 14 with three rebounds, and Kevin Garnett 10 with nine rebounds for the Celtics, who have lost three in a row and six of eight.
