ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 28 (UPI) -- Rashard Lewis made a last-second layup Thursday, giving the Orlando Magic a 96-94 victory over Boston.
Orlando trailed by as many as 14 early in the fourth period but rallied to move into a tie with Atlanta for the lead in the Southeast Division.
Boston took a 94-91 lead with 52 seconds left on a layup by Rajon Rondo but Orlando tied it with 39 seconds to go on a 3-pointer from J.J. Redick. Ray Allen missed a 3-point try for Boston and Orlando eventually worked the ball to Lewis for the game-winning shot.
There was just enough time left on the clock for Boston to get off a clean 3-pointer at the buzzer but the attempt by Rasheed Wallace failed to hit the rim.
Lewis hit 8-of-13 shots from the field and scored 23 points. Dwight Howard added 19 for Orlando, which has won two of three meetings with Boston this season.
The Celtics were led by Allen with 20 and Wallace with 17.
