Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Corey Fisher and Scottie Reynolds both scored 17 points Wednesday and No. 3 Villanova broke things open late for a 90-72 win over Notre Dame.
The Wildcats won their 10th straight game and, at 19-1, are off to the best start in school history. Villanova is 8-0 in the Big East, the only unbeaten team in league action.
Notre Dame was within one at halftime, but Ben Hansbrough fouled out for Notre Dame with 12:48 remaining and Villanova pulled away from there. A 3-pointer by Taylor King with 9 minutes to go gave the Wildcats their first 10-point lead.
Luke Harangody had 21 points and 10 rebounds to pace Notre Dame (15-6, 4-4). The Fighting Irish have dropped three out of four.
