OTTAWA, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- Brian Elliott's fourth career shutout lifted the Ottawa Senators to their seventh straight win Tuesday, a 3-0 decision over New Jersey.

Elliott was perfect on the 24 shots he faced as Alex Kovalev, Milan Michalek and Jason Spezza each scored for Ottawa, which moved to within five points of Buffalo atop the Northeast Division.

Ottawa defenseman Filip Kuba registered two assists in the victory.

New Jersey's Martin Brodeur was pulled at the end of two periods after letting in three goals on 12 shots. Yann Danis finished the game with six saves in relief.
