COL BKB: Seton Hall 64, Pittsburgh 61

NEWARK, N.J., Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Herb Pope had 19 points and nine rebounds Sunday, leading Seton Hall to a 64-61 Big East Conference upset of 11th-ranked Pittsburgh.

The 6-foot-8 sophomore forward's 3-point play gave the Pirates a 41-33 with 15:35 left in the second half, a lead they held until the final buzzer.

Seton Hall led 30-26 at the half, and maintained its poise after Jermaine Dixon's lay-up drew Pitt within 58-54 with 3:05 remaining.

Jeff Robinson had 15 points and three rebounds, Eugene Harvey nine with four assists and six steals, while Jeremy Hazell also scored nine points for the Pirates (12-6, 3-4), who have won three of four.

Ashton Gibbs led Pitt with 23 points.

Dixon cored 11 with six rebounds, and Brad Wanamaker added nine points, eight rebounds, and six assists for the Panthers (15-4, 5-2), who have lost their last two contests following an eight-game winning streak.
