NHL: Los Angeles 3, Detroit 2

DETROIT, Jan. 23 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Kings scored three unanswered goals Saturday to steal a 3-2 win over the Red Wings in Detroit.

Brad Richardson scored the game-winner on a tip-in midway through the third period and Jonathan Quick, who had 31 saves, kept the Wings at bay the rest of the way.

Anze Kopitar scored a goal late in the second period and also had two assists for Los Angeles. Peter Harrold added a goal, his first of the season.

The Wings held a 2-0 lead after one period on goals by Todd Bertuzzi and Valtteri Filppula. Jimmy Howard had 30 saves on 30 shots.

The loss was Detroit's fourth in its last five games. The Kings beat the Red Wings for the fist time in their last six tries dating to 2008.
