VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Christian Ehrhoff scored the go-ahead goal 5:05 into the third period Thursday and the Vancouver Canucks went on to defeat Dallas 4-3.
The Stars lost on the road for the 10th straight time. They had won their previous two games at home and were trying for what would have been their first three-game winning streak of the season.
Dallas took a 2-1 lead midway through the second on a shorthanded goal by Toby Petersen. Alex Burrows, however, scored his own shorthanded goal to tie it with a minute to go in the second.
After Ehrhoff put the Canucks in front, Kyle Wellwood produced an insurance goal with 3:29 to play. That turned out to be needed when Trevor Daley scored for Dallas with 3 seconds remaining.
Roberto Luongo made 21 saves for the victory.
Alex Auld, who has recently supplanted a struggling Marty Turco in goal for Dallas, stopped 19-of-23 shots.
