Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW ORLEANS, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- James Posey grabbed an inbounds pass under the basket and laid it in with 1.1 seconds remaining Wednesday, giving New Orleans a 113-111 win over Memphis.
The Hornets trailed by eight nearing the midway point of the fourth quarter but rallied to halt a Grizzlies' four-game winning streak.
Chris Paul led the Hornets with 21 points, 12 in the final period. He also handed out 13 assists. David West added 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Memphis was led by Rudy Gay with 26 and Zach Randolph with 25.
New Orleans moved into a tie with Memphis for fourth place in the competitive Southwest Division, 5 1/2 games behind front-running Dallas.
The Southwest is the only division in the NBA in which all five teams have winning records.
