COL BKB: Georgetown 74, Pittsburgh 66

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- Chris Wright scored a team-high 27 points Wednesday, leading 14th-ranked Georgetown to a 74-66 Big East Conference win over 11th-ranked Pittsburgh.

The defeat ended Pitt's 31-game winning streak on its home court, the Petersen Events Center.

From a 31-31 halftime deadlock, Pittsburgh led 56-54 on Jermaine Dixon's 3-pointer with 7:50 left.

Georgetown closed with a 20-10 spurt, led by Wright's 3-pointer and layup.

Greg Monroe scored 13 with 11 rebounds, Austin Freeman scored 13 with four rebounds and three assists, while Julian Vaughn added 11 points, five rebounds and six assists for the Hoyas (14-3, 5-2 Big East), who have won three of four.

Gilbert Brown led Pittsburgh with 20 points and four rebounds.

Dixon, the only other Pittsburgh player in double figures, scored 14. Brad Wanamaker filled his stats sheet with nine points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for the Panthers (15-3, 5-1), who had won their last eight games.
