Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Raffi Torres led Columbus with two goals and the Blue Jackets ended a three-game slide Monday, defeating the St. Louis Blues 4-2.
The Jackets took a 2-1 lead on Torres' goals in the first period after Paul Kariya had given the Blues an early 1-0 advantage.
St. Louis tied it on a Keith Tkachuk goal in the second period and then Columbus put the game away with goals by Rick Nash later in the second and Chris Clark in the third.
Matthew Garon blocked 30 shots for Columbus. Chris Mason was credited with 26 saves for St. Louis, which had won its four previous games.
