ST. LOUIS, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Alexander Steen and Roman Polak each had a goal and an assist Saturday to lift the St. Louis Blues to a 4-1 win over the visiting New York Rangers.

David Perron and David Backes also scored for St. Louis and Chris Mason made 21 saves en route to the Blues' fourth straight win.

Brian Boyle scored the Rangers' goal and Chad Johnson gave up three goals on 24 shots.

The game was tied 1-1 at the start of the third period, but Polak scored 45 seconds in to make it 2-1.

Steen's goal with 11:29 to play and an empty-net tally by Backes added insurance.

The loss was the third in a row for New York and fourth in its last fifth games.
