DENVER, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- A Denver judge subpoenaed Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker to testify in the trial of the alleged killer of Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.
The Denver Post reported Saturday Walker was one of the athletes expected to testify in the trial of Willie Clark, who allegedly shot Williams after a nightclub altercation on New Year's Day 2007.
Walker and Williams were teammates on the Broncos at the time. Walker was sitting next to Williams in a limousine that was peppered by gunfire and Williams died in his arms.
Clark, 26, has denied firing the shots.
Jury selection is to begin Feb. 19. The Post said Walker and other athletes called to testify have been instructed not to wear rings, team clothing or any other professional sports paraphernalia that might prejudice the jurors, the Post said.
