Milton Bradley sued over back Chicago rent

CHICAGO, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Milton Bradley's former landlord says the ex-Cub allegedly skipped out on his rent following his trade to Seattle.

Bradley was sued Friday for $44,000 he allegedly still owes on the lease on his upscale Chicago apartment plus late fees and interest, the Chicago Sun-Times said Saturday.

Bradley allegedly moved out and stopped paying rent in October as the baseball season came to a close. He was traded to the Mariners last month.

Landlord Pantelis Kotsiopoulos said he went to Cook County Circuit Court after failing to get satisfaction from Bradley's people.

"You try to treat people in the way you want to be treated yourself, and when they don't respond the proper way, you go through the legal avenue," Kotsiopoulos told the Chicago Tribune.
