
AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Damion James blocked a potential game-tying shot Saturday, helping top-ranked Texas escape with a 72-67 overtime win over Texas A&M.
The 6-foot-7 senior forward blocked B.J. Holmes' 3-point attempt with 9 seconds left in overtime and the Longhorns holding a 70-67 advantage.
James led Texas with 26 points, seven in overtime, 12 rebounds and three blocks.
Gary Johnson scored 18 with 10 rebounds, and J'Covan Brown 14 with 10 rebounds for the Longhorns (17-0, 3-0 Big 12), who with second-ranked Kentucky, are the nation's lone unbeaten teams.
Donald Sloan led A&M with 21 points and four rebounds.
Bryan Davis scored 17 with four rebounds, while Nathan Walkup added 13 points with eight rebounds for the Aggies (12-5, 1-2), who blew a 36-27 halftime lead.
They outshot the Longhorns 37.9 percent-35.3 percent, but lost the turnover battle, 11-9.
