COL BKB: Virginia 82, Georgia Tech 75

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Sylven Landesberg scored 22 points Wednesday and Virginia pulled away down the stretch for an 82-75 victory over No. 18 Georgia Tech.

Georgia Tech had a 59-58 lead with 9 minutes left in what had been a closely contested game throughout but the Cavaliers limited the Yellow Jackets to two points over the next 4 minutes.

Virginia (10-4, 2-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) got 15 points from Mustapha Farrakhan and 12 from Mike Scott. It was Virginia's sixth straight victory.

Zachery Peacock had 19 to lead Georgia Tech (12-4, 1-2), which was coming off a victory over Duke.
