Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

AMES, Iowa, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Avery Bradley and Damion James led a second-half comeback Wednesday that brought No. 1 Texas a 90-83 victory over Iowa State.
Playing their first game ever as the top-ranked team in the country, the Longhorns found themselves struggling against the Cyclones. Iowa State, which had won its first six games of the season, had a two-point halftime lead.
Texas scored the first 10 points of the second period, but led by no more than 12 during the final 20 minutes.
Bradley made 10-of-14 shots from the field and scored 24 points while James added 23 to go with 14 rebounds. Texas (16-0, 2-0 Big 12) shot 49 percent and hit half of its 16 tries from 3-point range.
Iowa State (11-5, 0-1) was led by Marquis Gilstrap with 18.
