
TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Steve Stamkos connected on two goals Tuesday to lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to a wild 7-4 win over Washington.
Martin St. Louis notched a goal and two assists while Vinny Lecavalier, Stephane Veilleux, Jeff Halpern and Kurtis Foster also scored for the Lightning, who blew a 4-1 lead only to score the final three goals for the win.
St. Louis' tally with less than 3 minutes left in the second period snapped a 4-4 tie. Foster and Halpern scored goals in the third period to ice it for the Bolts.
Mike Smith started in goal for Tampa Bay and was replaced Antero Niittymaki, who stopped 22 shots in relief for the win.
Mike Green got two goals twice for the Capitals, with Eric Fehr and Alexander Semin adding the other Washington scores.
