Langenbrunner named U.S. hockey captain

COLORADO SPRINGS, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- New Jersey Devils forward Jamie Langenbrunner has been named captain of the United States Olympic hockey team, USA Hockey announced Monday in Colorado.

The 34-year-old Langenbrunner is also captain of the Devils.

Langenbrunner, from Cloquet, Minn., has accumulated 222 goals and 363 assists in 927 games with the Dallas Stars and New Jersey.

The Winter Olympics open Feb. 12 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
