CHICAGO, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Sources say Chicago Bears Coach Lovie Smith will hold interviews with two candidates for the NFL team's vacant defensive and offensive coordinator positions.

The sources, whose identities were not released, told the Chicago Tribune that Smith is expected to meet with former Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Perry Fewell Monday to discuss the defensive coordinator post and watch game tape.

One source said Fewell, who ended the NFL regular season as the Bills interim head coach, is undecided if he would like to take the Bears defensive coordinator position or serve as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Bates of the University of Southern California Trojans football team is expected to interview with Smith Tuesday regarding the offensive coordinator position, the Tribune reported.

Bates, who serves as assistant head coach for the Trojans, reportedly could be offered a post with the Seattle Seahawks after USC coach Pete Carroll agreed to serve as the NFL team's head football coach next season.
