NHL: Calgary 3, Vancouver 2 (SO)

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Jamie Lundmark's goal in the third round of the shootout lifted the Calgary Flames past Vancouver 3-2 Saturday and into first place in the Northwest Division.

Lundmark, whose goal in regulation tied the game 2-2, scored on a backhander to give the Flames a one-point lead in the division over the Canucks and the Colorado Avalanche.

Rene Borque scored Calgary's other goal. Miikka Kiprusoff had 19 saves in goal.

Roberto Luongo had 38 saves as the Flames outshot Vancouver 41-21. Daniel Sedin and Mikael Samuelsson scored the Canucks' goals.

Borque gave Vancouver the lead at 9:36 of the first period, but Samuelsson tied it at 14:09.

The Canucks took a 2-1 lead at 4:41 of the second period. It was then Calgary's turn to the tie the score with Lundmark's backhander, which hit the leg of a Vancouver defenseman and slipped between Luongo's pads.
