LOS ANGELES, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Southern California running back Joe McKnight will enter the 2010 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Times said.

The 6-foot, 190-pound junior from Los Angeles rushed for 1,054 yards on 164 carries with eight touchdowns in the 2009-10 season, and added 146 yards on 22 pass receptions.

"It's my first healthy season, and it's time for me to go," McKnight told the newspaper Friday in a brief telephone interview. "I just got to go work out and train for the combine now and see what happens."

McKnight did not play in USC's 24-13 Emerald Bowl victory on Dec. 26 while USC's compliance department investigated his relationship with a Santa Monica businessman.

The newspaper had reported seeing McKnight driving a sport utility vehicle registered to Scott Schenter, who reportedly has ties to marketing interests and/or agents.

Use of the vehicle is a violation of NCAA policy.

He was limited by a toe injury in his freshman season.
