NHL: Vancouver 7, Columbus 3

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Alexandre Burrows' hat trick carried the Vancouver Canucks past the Columbus Blue Jackets 7-3 Tuesday.

Roberto Luongo made 30 saves for the Canucks, who have won three consecutive games.

Henrik Sedin had a goal and two assists. Mikael Samuelsson, Sami Salo and Rick Rypien also scored for Vancouver.

Columbus, which has lost four straight games, had goals from Kristian Huselius, Kris Russell and R.J. Umberger. Steve Mason started in goal but was relieved by Mathieu Garon in the second period after giving up six goals on 17 shots.

Two of Burrows' three goals came in the first period as the Canucks rallied from a 2-0 deficit to take a 3-2 lead at the end of the period. The Canucks outscored Columbus 3-1 in the second period and then capped the scoring with Burrows' third goal at 5:02 of the final period.
