LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Kobe Bryant scored 22 points Tuesday to move into 15th place on the NBA all-time scoring list and help the Los Angeles Lakers top Houston 88-79.

Bryant raised his career point total to 24,837 and passed Patrick Ewing on the list.

Lamar Odom had 17 points, 19 rebounds and nine assists. Andrew Bynum led the Lakers with 24 points.

Ron Artest returned to the Lakers' lineup after missing five games with a concussion. He turned in seven points and seven rebounds.

Carl Landry scored 19 points and Aaron Brooks 18 in the Rockets' lowest offensive performance of the season.

The Lakers led wire-to-wire en route to their fourth consecutive victory and a league-best 28-6 record despite being limited to their lowest offensive output of the season. Los Angeles shot 45.6 percent from the field to Houston's 40.3 percent.
