NEWARK, N.J., Jan. 5 (UPI) -- Martin Brodeur posted his fifth shutout of the season Tuesday to lead the New Jersey Devils to a 4-0 romp over Dallas.

Brodeur made 28 saves in his 106th career shutout -- most in NHL history -- and Patrik Elias scored twice for the Devils, who racked up their ninth win in 11 games. Travis Zajac and Zach Parise also tallied for the Devils.

Elias' first goal came on a redirection of a Brian Rolston shot at 18:02 of the first period and his second put New Jersey up 2-0 at the 7-minute mark of the second.

Goalie Alex Auld was victimized four goals on 27 shots for Dallas.
