NBA: New Orleans 91, Utah 87

SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- New Orleans, led by a 30-point effort by Devin Brown, surged ahead in the third quarter Monday and went on to down the Utah Jazz 91-87.

The Hornets, seven points behind at halftime, outscored Utah 25-11 in the third.

David West pitched in with 20 points and three steals and Chris Paul had 12 points, nine assists and three steals in New Orleans' third straight win.

Carlos Boozer tallied 18 points, Deron Williams scored 17 and C.J. Miles had 15 for Utah, which has lost three consecutive games for the first time this season.
