
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Thomas Jones ran for two scores and Jay Feely booted three field goals Sunday, helping the New York Jets gain the AFC playoffs with a 37-0 rout of Cincinnati.
The two teams will clash again, in Cincinnati, in the first round of the playoffs Saturday.
Cincinnati (10-6) won the AFC North. The Jets (9-7) earned a wild-card berth.
Jones scored on runs of 1 and 2 yards and Feely's field goals were from 20, 39 and 40 yards.
The Jets also scored on a 32-yard run by Brad Smith, who gained 92 yards on just four carries, and a 6-yard run by Jerricho Cotchery.
Mark Sanchez was 8-of-16 passing for just 63 yards for New York.
The Jets' defense held the Bengals to a mere 72 total yards.
Cincinnati had mostly reserve players on the field in the second half.
