NHL: Ottawa 7, Philadelphia 4

OTTAWA, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Ottawa's Alex Kovalev scored four goals and added an assist Sunday and the Senators whipped the Philadelphia Flyers 7-4.

The Senators blew a three-goal lead but came back with three in the third, two of them by Kovalev.

Chris Kelly contributed two goals and Jarkko Ruutu also scored for Ottawa, which has won four of its last five contests.

Goalies Pascal Leclaire and Brian Elliott combined for 17 saves for the Senators.

Ian Laperriere, Darroll Powe, Arron Asham and Mike Richards got the Flyers' goals.

Philadelphia's starting goaltender Michael Leighton had five saves before he was replaced by Brian Boucher, who ended up with 21.
