NHL: Buffalo 1, Montreal 0

MONTREAL, Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Buffalo's Ryan Miller blocked 30 shots, posting the 17th shutout of his NFL career Sunday, and the Sabres clipped the Montreal Canadiens 1-0.

Tim Connolly scored in the second period for Buffalo, which has won four straight games.

Connolly was assisted by Jason Pominville and Jochen Hecht.

Montreal goalie Carey Price had 29 saves.

The Canadiens had a couple of chances in the final minute but the shots were turned away by Miller, who had 10 of his stops in the third period.
