

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Jonathan Stewart scored once on 16 carries for 125 yards Sunday, leading Carolina to a 23-10 win over New Orleans.
The touchdown on a 67-yard, first-quarter scamper was part of Carolina's 17-3 halftime lead.
Matt Moore completed 14-of-23 passes for 162 yards with one touchdown.
Dwayne Jarrett made five receptions for 68 yards with one touchdown, while Muhsin Muhammad added seven catches for 85 yards for the surging Panthers (8-8), who won three in a row to end the season despite a rash of injuries to top players.
Mark Brunell passed for just 102 yards with one interception in place of starter Drew Brees, who was rested for the upcoming playoffs.
Lynell Hamilton scored once on 10 carries for 48 yards, and also had three receptions for 38 yards, while Garrett Hartley kicked a 35-yard, second-quarter field goal for the Saints (13-3), who will be the top seed in the NFC playoffs despite losing their final three regular-season contests.
