COL BKB: Georgetown 67, DePaul 50

ROSEMONT, Ill., Jan. 3 (UPI) -- Chris Wright's 18 points, three rebounds and three assists Sunday led 13th-ranked Georgetown to a 67-50 win at DePaul.

The Blue Demons kept it close in the first stanza, pulling within 27-25 on two free throws by Jeremiah Kelly with 3:37 left in the half, but Georgetown then closed with an 8-0 spurt and led 35-25 at the break.

In the second, Wright's lay-up gave GU an insurmountable 51-34 advantage with 8:51 remaining.

Austin Freeman scored 17 with three rebounds and four assists, Jason Clark scored 13 and Greg Monroe added 10 points, four rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots for the Hoyas (11-1, 2-0 Big East), who have won three in a row.

Mac Koshwal led DePaul with 16 points and eight rebounds.

Will Walker scored nine points, and Eric Wallace eight for the Blue Demons (7-7, 0-2), who have lost three in a row.
