CALGARY, Alberta, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Curtis McElhinney gave up a lone goal with 81 seconds left in the game and made 21 saves Wednesday, leading the Calgary Flames to a 2-1 win over Edmonton.

The Flames won their third straight, getting goals from Craig Conroy with 11 seconds left in the second period and Curtis Glencross midway through the third.

Edmonton could not sustain the success it achieved Wednesday, when the Oilers halted a seven-game losing streak with a home win against Toronto.

Jeff Deslauriers, who got the victory over the Maple Leafs, suffered the loss Thursday while making 37 saves.

Calgary and Edmonton have met five times this season and the Flames have won them all.
