
DURHAM, N.C., Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Nolan Smith made four 3-pointers Thursday and No. 7 Duke shot 60 percent from the field in rolling over Pennsylvania 114-55.
Smith scored 23 points and Kyle Singler had 20 in a mismatch that saw the Quakers commit 20 turnovers and 30 fouls.
Duke (11-1) played its last game before the start of Atlantic Coast Conference action, which begins when the Blue Devils meet Clemson on Sunday.
Pennsylvania is winless in nine games and is 0-2 since the dismissal of Coach Glen Miller. Zack Rosen and Darren Smith each scored 10 points for the Quakers.
Duke had runs of 10-0 and 17-2 in the first half, which ended with the Blue Devils owning a 58-29 advantage. Duke also scored 13 consecutive points in the second half and held Pennsylvania scoreless for a 5-minute stretch.
