Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

INDIANAPOLIS, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Shelvin Mack scored 14 points Thursday and No. 23 Butler broke the game open early in the second half en route to a 72-49 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay.
The Bulldogs owned an eight-point lead at intermission, and then went on a 12-3 run to begin the second period.
Gordon Hayward added 13 for the Bulldogs and Willie Veasley had 10. Butler won for the third time in four games and improved to 9-4 for the season. The Bulldogs are unbeaten in two Horizon League games.
Green Bay was limited to 35 percent shooting from the floor and was outrebounded 39-22. Rian Pearson led the Phoenix with 11 points.
Wisconsin-Green Bay is 10-5 for the year and 3-1 in conference action.
