NHL: Minnesota 4, Los Angeles 3

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Eric Belanger had two goals, including the game winner late in the third period, to lead the Minnesota Wild a 4-3 victory over Los Angeles Monday.

Belanger, who also had an assist, scored with 2:25 left to play, just 12 seconds after Scott Parse scored a goal for the Kings to tie the score at 3-3.

Martin Havlat and Kim Johnsson scored goals and Niklas Backstrom had 29 saves for Minnesota, which has won three straight games.

Parse and Drew Doughty each had a goal and an assist, Jack Johnson had a goal and Jonathan Quick stopped 19 shots for the Kings, who lost their third straight.

Belanger scored on a slapshot from the top of the circle on the right side after the Wild controlled a center-ice faceoff following Parse's third-period goal.
