
SACRAMENTO, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Andres Nocioni had a season-high 21 points Monday to lead the Sacramento Kings to a 106-101 victory over Denver.
Donte Greene and Beno Udrih scored 17 points apiece for Sacramento, which was coming off consecutive overtime losses to Cleveland and the Los Angeles Lakers. Jason Thompson finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Omri Casspi scored 11 for the Kings.
Carmelo Anthony scored 34 for the Nuggets, who lost for the fifth time in six games. Nene had 25 points and eight rebounds and Ty Lawson scored 12 for Denver.
Down by six points late in the fourth quarter, Denver climbed back with an 8-0 run to take a 94-92 lead with 3 minutes left to play. After Casspi hit a 3-pointer to put the Kings up 97-96 Udrih completed a 3-point-play and Thompson was good on a pair of free throws to put the Kings ahead by five and they held on for the win.
