Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Jai Lucas and Dexter Pittman each scored 15 points for unbeaten No. 2 Texas, which jumped ahead early Tuesday and went on to batter Gardner-Webb 95-63.
The Longhorns (12-0) rolled to a 55-28 halftime lead and played reserves for much of the second half.
Damion Jones had 14 points and 13 rebounds for Texas.
C.J. Hailey scored 20 points for the Bulldogs (3-8), who have dropped eight straight games.
Texas hit 46.8 percent of its field goals to 34.3 percent for Gardner-Webb.
