HOUSTON, Dec. 28 (UPI) -- The Houston Rockets have reached an agreement with seven-time all-star Tracy McGrady to try to trade him to another team, sources told the Houston Chronicle.

McGrady was given leave from the Rockets during the weekend after a disagreement concerning his playing time. The Chronicle said McGrady's representatives asked the team to trade him and said he will not play until a deal is worked out.

McGrady returned from knee surgery and played in his first game this season Dec. 15. He appeared in six contests with an average playing time of 7 1/2 minutes.

The player apparently asked Coach Rick Adelman for more playing time.

"I'm a player, man," McGrady told the Chronicle.

McGrady twice won the NBA scoring championship.
