CHICAGO, Dec. 27 (UPI) -- Tyrus Thomas scored 21 points and Joakim Noah had 17 points plus 18 rebounds Saturday in Chicago's 96-85 win over the visiting New Orleans Hornets.
Thomas, who also had nine rebounds, was back in the lineup after missing 22 games with a fractured arm.
"I was just trying to get in a rhythm," Thomas said. "There was a lot of anxious energy, so I was just trying to slow myself down and let the game come to me."
Devin Brown scored 22 points for New Orleans and was 6-of-7 from 3-point range. Chris Paul scored 15.
In the third quarter, the Hornets hit only three field goals while being outscored 23-9. They started the final period down 73-60.
Chicago maintained a double-digit lead most of the way through the fourth quarter. The Hornets came up short on two of their final possessions.
