NEWARK, N.J., Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Da'Sean Butler scored six of his 21 points in overtime Saturday, helping sixth-ranked and unbeaten West Virginia escape with a 90-84 win at Seton Hall.

Butler's overtime burst helped WVU recover from Seton Hall's 12-2 run in the final 48 seconds of the second half.

A 3-pointer by SHU's Jeremy Hazell tied the game 77-77 with eight seconds left.

Devin Ebanks led WVU with 22 points, 17 rebounds and seven assists.

Kevin Jones added 19 with 14 rebounds for the Mountaineers (10-0, 1-0 Big East), who shot 47.5 percent to Seton Hall's 37.8 percent and overcame 13 turnovers.

Hazell led Seton Hall, scoring a career-high 41 points (9-of-12 3-pointers) with seven rebounds.

Herb Pope scored 11 with 11 rebounds, while Eugene Harvey added 10 with six assists for the Pirates (9-2, 0-1), who have dropped two of three.

They sank just 16-of-33 free throw attempts.
