NEW YORK, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Carolina running back Jonathan Stewart has earned NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors, the league announced Wednesday.
Stewart, in his second season out of Oregon, scored twice on 25 carries for 109 yards, leading the Panthers to a 26-7 win over the Minnesota Vikings. He is the first player to rush for at least 100 yards against the Vikings since Nov. 11, 2007, when Green Bay's Ryan Grant did it.
It is Stewart's first weekly honor of his NFL career.
Other NFC honors went to Dallas linebacker DeMarcus Ware (defense) and Arizona punter Ben Gram (special teams).
Ware, playing a week after a strained neck, had two tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles in the Cowboys' 24-17 win over previously unbeaten New Orleans. He is the only player in the NFL with at least 10 sacks in each of the past four seasons.
Graham averaged 50.3 yards per punt, placing three inside the 20-yard line in the Cardinals' 31-24 win at Detroit.
