LAS VEGAS, Dec. 23 (UPI) -- Max Hall threw three touchdown passes Tuesday to lead Brigham Young to a 44-20 win over Oregon State in the Las Vegas Bowl.
Hall completed 19-of-30 passes for 192 yards and the No. 14 Cougars' (11-2) defense limited the high-powered No. 20 Oregon State's (8-5) offense to seven points in the first three quarters.
Harvey Unga ran for 76 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries and Hall connected with Dennis Pitta, Luke Ashworth and Manase Tonga for scores.
Sean Canfield was 20-of-41 for 173 yards for the Beavers. Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 70 yards and a TD, but both he and his brother, James, fumbled in their own territory and set up BYU scores.
Brigham Young kept Oregon State off the board in the second and third quarters while converting nine of their 14 third-down plays in the course of the game.
