DALLAS, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Patrick Marleau scored twice and Evgeni Nabokov made 36 saves Monday, leading the San Jose Sharks to a 4-2 victory over the Dallas Stars.
Dallas had pulled to within 2-1 early in the third period but Marleau answered less than three minutes later with his 23rd goal of the season.
The Stars notched a disputed power-play goal from Stephane Robidas three minutes later but could get no closer. San Jose's Ryan Clowe got credit for an empty-net score that trickled in off the stick of Stars defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy as time ran out.
Dany Heatley added two assists while Joe Pavelski scored the other goal in the Sharks' win.
Jamie Benn and Loui Eriksson each tallied a goal for the Stars, who have dropped four of five games. Marty Turco stopped 28-of-31 shots for Dallas.
