PITTSBURGH, Dec. 21 (UPI) -- New Jersey goalie Martin Brodeur became the all-time NHL leader in shutouts Monday, helping the Devils down the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-0.

Brodeur has 104 career shutouts, surpassing Terry Sawchuk's all-time NHL mark. He stopped 35 shots and benefited from a goal and assist from Patrik Elias and three assists by Zach Parise, as the Devils posted their fifth straight win and ninth in 10.

Brodeur holds all of the major career goaltending records, including most wins (580), games played (1,032) and minutes played (60,962).

Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury allowed four goals on 16 shots before being pulled in the second period.

The Devils got the game-winner just 4:39 into the game when a wrist shot by Bryce Salvador went through a screen and past Fleury's glove.
