BALTIMORE, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Joe Flacco passed for 234 yards and four touchdowns Sunday, pacing the Baltimore Ravens to a lopsided 31-7 victory over Chicago.
With the win, Baltimore preserved its playoff hopes, raising its record to 8-6. A loss by the Denver Broncos to the Oakland Raiders Sunday allowed the Ravens take over the first of two AFC wild-card positions.
Flacco, who was 21-of-29 passing, hooked up with tight end Todd Heap on a pair of first-quarter touchdowns and later found wide receivers Demetrius Williams and Derrick Mason on third-quarter touchdown passes to bury the struggling Bears (5-9), who have lost six of their last eight games.
The Bears committed six turnovers and didn't score a touchdown on offense, ending with just 13 first downs and 220 yards of total offense.
The game was moved from its original 1 p.m. slot to 4:15 p.m. to allow more than 1,000 volunteers in Baltimore to clear the stadium of snow.
