Canadian Osborne-Paradis wins Cup downhill

VAL GARDENA, Italy, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Canada's Manuel Osborne-Paradis took first place in Saturday's Saslong Classic downhill race at Val Gardena, Italy.

Osborne-Paradis covered the winding course in 2 minutes, 01.27 seconds, holding off second-place finisher Mario Scheiber, who finished 0.13 seconds behind the Canadian.

Ambrosi Hoffmann of Switzerland and Johan Clarey of France tied for third. Bode Miller of the United States came in ninth with a time of 2:02.04.
