Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

LAS VEGAS, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Matt Shaw led the way with 16 points Thursday and No. 23 Nevada-Las Vegas scored the first 12 points of the second half to defeat Weber State 72-63.
The Rebels (8-1) won their second in a row since their lone loss of the season to Kansas State.
UNLV owned a five-point halftime lead and expanded that to 49-32 with its big run to open the second period. Weber State came no closer than seven the rest of the way.
Chance Stanback added 15 points and Oscar Bellfield had 10 for UNLV, which made 10-of-23 shots from 3-point range.
Weber State (5-5) was led by Kyle Bullinger with 21.
