
OAKLAND, Calif., Dec. 17 (UPI) -- Tim Duncan scored 27 points Wednesday and the San Antonio Spurs put together a dominant third quarter to defeat Golden State 103-91.
The Spurs won on the road for only the third time in nine tries this season.
Duncan, coming off a season-best 34 points in a loss to Phoenix, made 11-of-22 shots from the field. Richard Jefferson added 17 points and Keith Bogans had 13.
The Spurs moved into a tie with Houston for second place in the Southwest Division -- 4 1/2 games behind Dallas.
San Antonio overcame a 35-point performance by Monta Ellis, who took 31 of the 87 shots attempted by Golden State. The Warriors lost their fourth straight.
Golden State had a one-point lead 3 minutes deep in the third quarter and was outscored the rest of the period 22-8.
