ST. LOUIS, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- T.J. Oshie broke a tie with a late goal Tuesday, leading the St. Louis Blues to a 4-3 victory over Calgary.

With 4:58 remaining in regulation, Paul Kariya sent a pass into the slot where it was picked up by Oshie, who was standing alone as he buried it with a swift wrist shot past Flames goalie Curtis McElhinney.

St. Louis also got goals from Andy McDonald, David Backes and Alex Steen, while Chris Mason made 20 saves and Brad Boyes added three assists in the victory.

Calgary continued its December woes, falling to 2-4-1 for the month. Rene Bourque, Daymond Langkow and Dustin Boyd got goals for the Flames in the loss.

After Oshie's goal, Calgary had chances to tie the contest, including a power play at 18:52. But a Dion Phaneuf wrist shot went wide and the Blues were able to hang on for the win.
